Helping Amanda School Children and Teachers

We were so happy to be able to visit with the director of the Amanda School recently.  Madame Juliette said she started the Amanda School 10 years ago to give children in the soixant sept area an opportunity to attend school and gain an education.  Most of the schools of the area are out of the price range for many of the children in this neighborhood.  Madame Juliette has a desire to teach them both spiritually and temporally.  If the children did not have this school, they would be on the streets.  They come to school for the morning and then they have a 2 hour lunch break from 12-2 and return until 4 for the younger kids and 4:30 for the older kids.

Shopping for the supplies used by the students and for some special things for the teachers to use.

Another shopper ready to carry her goods out of the store.

Our Site Monitor, Hery, showed us where to get the best prices!
, then have a 2 hour lunch break and return until 4 for the younger kids and 4:30 for the older kids.

The children are returning after their lunch break.

After playing a bit, they begin to line up.

You can see the schools restroom.

Lining up, littlest in the front.

We were given permission to give each child a bon bon (piece of candy)

Elder Nance tried to line up, but he just didn't fit.

We are a succor for the children of Madagascar, they are so happy and fun!

Too much fun, to make their lines straight, the put their hand on the sholder of the child in front of them!

Misaotra - Thank you!

The parents begin bringing in the boxes of goods!

Giving one of the boxes to Madame Juliette - kind of an official hand-over.

The children were waving good bye!  We loved spending some time with them.

One of the classes counted to 20 in English for us.

These are the Zaza-kaly (littlest kids)!

This was another one of our favorite days!  We love these children and their happy spirits!  They love to see us and it makes us feel good!  They stare so cute at our faces!  Elder Asay is a great clown with them and can make them all squeal with delight and laugh so hard!

  1. Oh goodness, there is nothing quite so wonderful as the smiles of children. Indeed, in the years ahead, you will look back at these photos and smile and think of that as one of the most wonderful days of your lives. I can't thank you enough for sharing.
