The Adorable Children of Madagascar!

Talk about picture overload!!  It may take you days to download this post - so sorry!  I love these children so much and I just couldn't leave any pictures off :)!

The children of Madagascar are so wonderful and I LOVE them so much!  They are so much fun, so beautiful, and so smart!  I love the toys and games they invent!  I love how sometimes they are terrified of me and my camera and other times they are absolute hams!  Sometimes out in the Focontany in the countryside, they scream, crying and running to find their mom because they are afraid of the vazaha (white people).  Sometimes even the older kids are curious and will get close and giggle, but when we turn to say Hi or take a picture, they run!  It's the same with the car - some are curious and they look and smile and wave - others see the car and take off running! :)  When we take their picture and then show them, they laugh so hard and then they want you to take another one!  I also love them because they remind me of my grandkids!  I miss my grandkids so much and it is fun to see the children here and notice their personalities and how they remind us of the ones we love so much at home :)  They are wonderful!

Love the cheeks on this little Doll!

Being little "hams"!

All of these kids really began haming it up!  There are more pictures of them further down the page.

The next 5 pictures are ones I took at different wards and branches.

This little girl was trying to help her sibling swing!  There is not a seat here, just a rope and it was not an easy task to get the little one on that rope :)

Playing with rocks and eating an orange

Playing a little soccer after church :)  Not a Branch or a Ward, but a Group!

One of the orphanages we visited

This one and the next six are from the orphanages.

Soccer with one of the missionaries
Add captionThis one and the 6 to follow are all of those cute kids who were really naming it up and couldn't get enough of having their picture taken!

Lots of little ones ride on mom's and siblings' backs
Eating lunch in a can

This little guy would love an actual day at Disney, I bet!
There's a story that goes with this and the nest 4 pictures.  We were on our way home the airport and the traffic was so SLOW!!  In Mada i love how kids always have their arm around each other, or lock arms, or hold hands!  Se the two boys up on the left?  There is also a little girl with them.  The slow traffic allowed them to catch up to us several times!  It got so they recognized us and would smile, wave, and often run to catch up to us - they were so cute!

Again,
and again,

and again!

The final good bye!

Siblings going to do laundry and tend the younger kids :)

A little boy at the Digs (a place to buy souvenirs.)

Kids at the Besoa Bridge Closing Ceremony.  This one and the next 7!

Having snacks after the ceremony.

Waving at us a long the road

Following us around as we check out one of the water projects.

I think the whole Fokontany and their neighbors came to watch :)

Can you see the baby sitting in the window?  (on the left)

More ute hams!

The little one in pink was so shy and would not look at us :)

The whole family works together in the field - we see lots of little ones in the wheelbarrow.

These little girls were so shy and tried to hide behind the men.  They both are carrying a baby on their back.

Bye for now!

  1. Beautiful!! Kids anywhere can be so enchanting. Your orphanage pictures remind me of our orphanage pictures of a couple of orphanages we got to serve briefly in Mexico. What work do you get to do for/with the orphanages? What work do you get to do with the water? Thank you for all you are doing.
